COPR is a repository for third party packages built by the Fedora build system. Instead of dragging in 250MB of dependencies to build pam, build externally and load only the RPM into the image. When nova-api start and the nova database hasn't yet been created, it would create it itself, preventing the migration in nova-conductor to run and making it unable to start. This commit ensures that nova-api container will not try to steal nova-conductor's job of creating the nova database. Nova-scheduler reacts differently to the missing database and simply exits with a backtrace. This commit also prevents nova-scheduler to start when the nova database cannot be found. This prevents unexpected breakage on new Fedora release. Fedora 20 is the last release known to work. Images based on Fedora 21 are currently broken as they lack required packages such as iproute. Kubernetes currently creates FOO_SERVICE_HOST and FOO_SERVICE_PORT env vars as part of starting the containers. However this is not done when starting them with plain docker. Defaulting variables to their common version if they're not already set allows the usage of --link in plain 'docker run' to wire together containers. Horizon requires that Nova, Neutron(Nova Network), Glance, and Keystone are running. Therefore, the container needs to check for the availablity of each service on startup. This patch replaces the collection of individual "build" scripts with a single script (tools/build-docker-image), made available as "build" inside each image directory. The build-docker-image script will, by default, build images tagged with the current commit id in order to prevent developers from accidentally stepping on each other or on release images. Previously images were based from RHEL OSP + RDO Icehouse. This presents a problem in that internal urls are used to access the rhel7 repositories. For new contributors, we need something that can be accessed without special rhel7 permissions. mariadb and rabbitmq can from fedora cinder, glance, keystone can from fedora-rdo-base This patch also uses the RDO repositories from upstream. This patch also udpates the base fedora image with latest bits.
